Laura grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, receiving her undergraduate degree in 1997 and Masters degree in 2000. She started teaching in 1998 at a small boarding school in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Upon marrying a US Marine in 2000 Laura began her journey as a military spouse, which gave her the opportunity to teach for the Department of Defense and Camp Lejeune Dependents Schools, as both a middle and high school teacher, on two different assignment tours. Laura also had the opportunity to work as a high school teacher in Radnor Township, PA and even lived and worked in Okinawa, Japan for three years supporting young Marines as they prepared for deployments to both combat and non-combat locations. Upon returning to the United States in 2015 Laura began working at Cape Fear Middle School in Pender County where she currently teaches 8th grade Language Arts.
Laura is an avid runner with two teenage children. She enjoys reading, lifting weights, walking her dog, Lucky, and volunteering. She enjoys working at Peak Learning Solutions with like-minded individuals looking to foster positive relationships with students as they strive to meet their academic learning goals.
